What’s the first thing you should know about me? I am an understated but quietly determined individual who will learn as quickly as possible. 

Hi, Hallo, Bonjour. I’m Thomas Portsmouth. Though I am a 21-year-old athlete from Surrey, UK, I have been competing in many sports from the early stages of my life. Initially in Gymnastics, Rugby, Swimming & Football. It wasn’t until 2016 that I began to focus my time and energy on cycling.

Why cycling? I loved it from the very first pedal revolution at a GoRide session. I also felt that it combined three aspectst that I enjoyed most about the three sports I had competed in. Movement, tactics and fitness.

For the 2023 season, and for the fifth year, I am racing for a Belgian outfit by the nam of Bingoal Wallonie Bruxelles Development Team. A step up from Mini-Discar Cycling Team of the previous two seasons. I am now competing at UCI level. This is a third division team on the Continental level, and is a development team to the Professional, ProTeam outfit.

In recent months, the process for writing my journey into stories has been incredibly appealing. I have become more invested in it, finding a newfound passion for the art of storytelling. I tend to cover aspects outside that of racing, though I am intrigued to see what I can do with the tactical side of cycling.
